A time to ask questions and learn more about the proposed changes to Wellspring’s bylaws. Join us after service on March 20th as we prepare for a future vote on the bylaws.
Bylaws are a guiding document for our church and are established to protect the congregation from potential problems. It clearly lays out rules that relate to who makes decisions, what decisions can be made by whom, rights, and expectations. When there are questions about what to do in certain situations, whose responsibility an issue is, or if action taken is appropriate the Bylaws can guide us to the answers to those questions.
The Servant Leadership Council (SLC) had looked at the current Bylaws and have endeavored to provide more harmony between what Wellspring's Bylaws say and the practices that Wellspring has. The new Bylaws proposal has drawn from the Evangelical Covenant Church's (ECC) Bylaws templates, recommendations from the ECC, Bylaws from other ECC churches, Wellspring's current practice, and what your SLC sees as best practices moving forward.
Below you can access a comparison of the major changes from Wellspring's original Bylaws to what is now proposed, as well as the proposed Bylaws in full.
